Three Questions at Year's End

Autumn Moon 2022. Mike Barzacchini photo.

For a blog post I’m working on for Mind Tools, I’ve been asked to consider these three questions:

  • What did this past year teach me?

  • What do I hope to leave behind in 2022?

  • What do I look forward to in 2023?

Blog post? I think my responses to these prompts could fill a book. Check back in a few weeks for a link to my post. In the meantime, what how would you respond to those questions?

Tonight’s Waxing Moon

Here’s tonight’s moon over East Dundee, Illinois, February 12, 2022. Waxing its way toward full. February’s full moon is known as the Snow Moon or the Storm Moon. What’s in a name? This year, the moon will reach full on February 16, the same night a winter storm is expected to hit our neighborhood, dropping up to six inches. Wonder if I’ll be able to see the moon through the falling snow?

Snow Moon, waxing its way to full, over East Dundee, Illinois.

The One Solution to the Riddle of Life

The one solution to the intricate riddle of life.

“There is but one solution to the intricate riddle of life; to improve ourselves, and contribute to the happiness of others.”― Mary Shelley

The Farmer’s Almanac also has a full-moon calendar that you can customize to your location and the UK’s Royal Observatory has great online resources for moon watchers and lunar fans.

Tomorrow, I’ll share some of my favorite moon photos from 2021. In the meantime, I wish you clear skies and great moon views in 2022. Happy Moon Year!
