Three Questions at Year's End
For a blog post I’m working on for Mind Tools, I’ve been asked to consider these three questions:
What did this past year teach me?
What do I hope to leave behind in 2022?
What do I look forward to in 2023?
Blog post? I think my responses to these prompts could fill a book. Check back in a few weeks for a link to my post. In the meantime, what how would you respond to those questions?
Big Game. Big Moon.
Fourth quarter. The Bengals are holding on, so far. Needed to go out and look at the waxing Snow Moon to find a little calm.
Tonight’s Waxing Moon
Here’s tonight’s moon over East Dundee, Illinois, February 12, 2022. Waxing its way toward full. February’s full moon is known as the Snow Moon or the Storm Moon. What’s in a name? This year, the moon will reach full on February 16, the same night a winter storm is expected to hit our neighborhood, dropping up to six inches. Wonder if I’ll be able to see the moon through the falling snow?
Mixtape 22-3
My third 2022 mixtape may rock just a little bit more than the previous two. A couple of tunes on here may even help melt the late-January snow. Here are the 11 songs of my week:
95 Percent, Split Single
Amplifier, The dBs
The Rager, Kyle Kraft
Wintersong, Blake Mills
The Hardest Cut, Spoon
Wake Me Up, Foals
Sunday, Joy Oladokun
Step In, Cedric Burnside
More Pressure, Kae Tempest, Kevin Abstract
Ode to a Butterfly, Nickel Creek
Mine Forever, Lord Huron

My 2022 More List
Here’s my 2022 more list. What do you hope for more of in the new year?
I haven’t made resolutions for years. What’s worked for me have been more lists. These are things I want to practice or experience more of in my year. Here’s my 2022 more list:
Music
Laughter
Kindness
Connections
Gratitude
Poetry
Nature
What do you hope to experience more of in 2022?
The One Solution to the Riddle of Life
The one solution to the intricate riddle of life.
“There is but one solution to the intricate riddle of life; to improve ourselves, and contribute to the happiness of others.”― Mary Shelley
It’s not always an easy path, but it’s the path worth striving to stay on.
Ready to Play 2022 Fishing Bingo?
Are you ready to play 2022 Fishing Bingo?
Just for fun, I created this fishing bingo card. If anything, maybe it will encourage me to get outside by the water more often this year to see if I can fill a square or two. Download a copy of the 2022 Fishing Bingo Card for yourself and give it a try.

The Farmer’s Almanac also has a full-moon calendar that you can customize to your location and the UK’s Royal Observatory has great online resources for moon watchers and lunar fans.
Tomorrow, I’ll share some of my favorite moon photos from 2021. In the meantime, I wish you clear skies and great moon views in 2022. Happy Moon Year!
